　　本書分為四個部分。第一部分為語言篇，介紹法律英語的典型特點，圍繞三個方面展開，即法律英語的詞匯特點、法律英語句法特點以及特定法律英語句式的翻譯。本部分內容中英文對照，便于學生反復閱讀和記憶，為后續(xù)部分的學習打好基礎。第二部分為文化篇，以美國法為主，輔以英國法的相關介紹，分11個單元全面介紹了英美國家基本法律制度。本部分內容涉及美國憲法、刑法和行政法等內容，適合初次接觸法律英語，或者希望對英美法律制度有全面了解的讀者學習。第三部分為案例篇，圍繞英美法案例教學的核心內容展開，首先介紹了理解英美國家案例的方法和案例中常用縮略語，然后精心挑選了12個典型案例，是原汁原味的英文法律文本，以期最大程度展現美國法原貌。這些典型案例大多源于聯邦最高法院大法官之手，其判決結果影響到了美國法治的進程，所確定的法律原則也早已成為美國法的核心。本部分內容適合較高層次法律英語學習的需求。第四部分為實踐篇，從部門法角度，用法律語言概述了中國特色社會主義法律體系，以及《中華人民共和國民法典》部分內容。本書可作為高等院校英語專業(yè)教材，也可作為法學專業(yè)的法律英語和法律翻譯專業(yè)教材，并可作為法學院西方法律制度課程的雙語教材，以及有志于從事涉外工作的人員學習使用。
