讀Ashley's Introduction to English History and Economic Theory （厄西雷的《英國歷史與經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)說導(dǎo)論》）之第末篇論 The Canonist Doctrine （《宗教法規(guī)學(xué)說》）甚有所得。昔E. A. Ross著 The Changing Chinese （《變化中的中國人》），其開篇第一語曰，“中國者，歐洲中古之復(fù)見于今也?！保–hina is the Middle Ages made visible）初頗疑之，年來稍知中古文化風(fēng)尚，近讀此書，始知洛史氏初非無所見也。
